About Us

Motor Racing Medics was established in 2007 following requests from drivers for help with their medical licencing issues. Our debut was at The Autosport International Racing Car Show held at the NEC in Birmingham supported by Bernard Cottrell and his team.  We were encouraged by the popularity of this service and this has led to our attendance, not only at the Autosport Show, but at other major race shows in the UK.  The need for the service to be provided outside of the shows prompted us to develop a purpose built medical facility near Gatwick Airport serving only the motorsport community.  We have continued to grow seeing an increasing number of drivers every year, not only from the car racing fraternity, but also from rallying, karting, motorcycling and top fuel dragster racing. In 2012 we were obliged to comply with the latest healthcare regulation and became fully registered with the Care Quality Commission.

Dr Mark Green qualified from St Georges Hospital Medical School in 1986.  He went on to train in General Practice obtaining his membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 1991.  After working in Croydon as a GP he returned to hospital medicine and trained in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine.  He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1993 and went on to work as a Consultant Anaesthetist with special interest in intensive care medicine in Surrey.

His motor racing interest started at a young age when he raced karts, although this had to stop to make way for his medical studies.  Following his appointment as a Consultant, he returned to motorsport to race historic cars, particularly Formula Junior single seaters, both in the UK and across Europe. As a driver himself he fully understands the unique requirements of licence medicals.
